Choosing the Perfect Swimsuit
by Ambreen Akhtar
Summer is here and it's time to go shopping for that perfect swimsuit. Looking for that one perfect suit can be agony, but it doesn't have to be. Just use these tricks of the trade to find the swim suit that flatters your body type:
Thin or small breasted try horizontal stripes or a nautical themed two piece suit to add depth to what you've got. Go for something with padding which can add a cup size. Avoid anything strapless.
Triangle or pear shaped (hips wider than shoulders) - Look for a suit that details the top part of your body. Wear solid colors on the
bottom, and halter- or high necked tops. Avoid high-cut legs as they will emphasize your hips.
Inverted triangle (shoulders or bust are wider than hips) - Build up the bottom and minimize the top. Wear medium to high-cut legs. Put more color and prints on the bottom. Also look for suits with wider straps. Square necks help to narrow broad shoulders. Avoid plunging neck lines or mini bottoms.
Rectangle also called "H" shaped (no defined waist) - You need the illusion of curves. Two piece suits are good. If you prefer a one piece suit, look for such details as piping, and princess seams that fake curves. Strong colors are also good. Avoid solid colored tanks that give no shape, and stay away from stripes.
The perfect suit will balance you out into an hour-glass - a defined waist-line between balanced shoulders and hips. Let the shopping begin!
